The score
Five stars means cancel dinner.
The score comes from the things that actually make a sky: how high the cloud deck sits, whether the west is open enough for light to get under it, and how clean the air is. Most evenings are one or two stars and the app says so plainly, which is what makes a five worth clearing the evening for.
The perch
Somewhere quiet, and back before dark.
Every walk is scored for how far it stays from roads and houses, and checked for a sight line from the perch back to where you parked. The leave-by time is worked backward from sunset with the walk out, the light going, and the way back all priced in.
