There are no hikes near me

The walks come from Ambleway's trail catalogue, which is still being built region by region. The sunset forecast works anywhere in the world; the hikes appear only where the catalogue has reached. Ambleway's coverage page lists the regions that are live and the ones being built.

The forecast will not load

The app needs a network connection to fetch the sky for a place, and it will keep showing the last week it fetched if it cannot reach us. If it stays blank, check that Sunsets has permission to use your location, or search for a place by name instead.

I am not getting sunset alerts

Alerts arrive about 90 minutes before sunset, and only on evenings that beat the score you chose — which is most of the point, and does mean quiet weeks. Check that notifications are allowed for Sunsets in iOS Settings, and that the alert is switched on in the app for the place you are in.

Deleting what we hold

Turning alerts off in the app deletes the notification record from our server. Everything else the app knows lives on your phone. See the privacy policy for the full account.
